Blumira vs Clone Systems
A cloud SIEM you run with Blumira's support team behind you, compared with a SIEM that Clone Systems' analysts run for you.
Blumira is a cloud SIEM and XDR company founded in 2018 and headquartered in Ann Arbor, Michigan. It sells three editions priced per employee, Detect, Respond and Automate, with unlimited log ingestion, one year of retention and a support team whose hours and incident coverage grow with the edition. Clone Systems is an independent security firm operating since 1998 and a PCI Approved Scanning Vendor since 2007; its Managed SOC + SIEM is one service in which Clone Systems' own analysts in the United States and the EU work every incident 24/7, with the SIEM included and a private AI that is Clone Systems' own private, self-hosted AI. Both put a SIEM at the center. The difference is who operates it. This page relies only on what each company publishes. In short: Blumira for IT teams that want to run their own cloud SIEM with a vendor support team behind them; Clone Systems for teams with 50 or more endpoints that want someone else to run the SIEM and work every incident around the clock.
Where Blumira is strong
Blumira is built for lean IT teams that want a SIEM they can stand up quickly and operate themselves, with Blumira's team as backup. Pricing is public and per employee, every edition includes unlimited data ingestion and a year of retention, and a 30-day trial of the top edition is offered. The Respond and Automate editions add the Blumira Agent for endpoint visibility, host isolation, user lockout, honeypots and 24/7 incident support, and Automate layers on AI analysis and automated blocklists and isolation. Blumira publishes fast support numbers, an average of 26 minutes for all requests and 18 minutes for critical incidents on the higher editions, and sells through its website, sales team and MSP partners. For an IT team that wants to own its SIEM day to day at a predictable monthly price, it is a strong, transparent option.
Where Clone Systems is different
- Analysts work every incident, on every plan. Managed SOC + SIEM is fully managed: Clone Systems' analysts in the United States and the EU investigate, attach the evidence and recommend the response around the clock. Blumira's lower edition includes concierge support during US business hours only; 24/7 incident support starts at its Respond edition, and your team still operates the platform.
- Per endpoint, everything included. One per-endpoint price covers the SIEM, the analysts, the private AI and the reports. Blumira is priced per employee by edition, with onboarding fees and extra agents priced separately.
- You choose where your logs live. Host the SIEM in Clone Systems' data centers in Philadelphia, Athens or Limassol, with EU customers hosted in Athens, or deploy it in your own environment so your logs never leave it. Blumira is a cloud SIEM; its pricing page does not describe a self-hosted option or state where data is hosted.
- Private AI with a person in the loop. Clone Systems' AI is its own private, self-hosted AI; your logs and alerts are never sent to OpenAI, Anthropic or any outside AI provider, and every AI action is approved by a person before it runs. Blumira's Automate edition includes AI analysis and automated response; its site does not say where that AI runs.
- PCI ASV and penetration testing from the same company. Clone Systems has been on the PCI Council's ASV list since 2007 and sells scanning and automated penetration testing online. Blumira offers compliance reporting inside the SIEM; we found no ASV claim and no scanning or testing products on its site.

Checked 21 October 2026. Blumira's figures are the list prices on its own pricing page; it offers volume, nonprofit, government and education discounts on request. Clone Systems quotes each environment after a scoping call. Because the two count scope differently (employees versus endpoints) and Blumira's support level depends on edition, the table compares purchasing models rather than matched sizes.
Who should choose which
Blumira suits IT teams that want to run their own cloud SIEM with a vendor support team behind them, at a published per-employee price, and are comfortable with business-hours support on the entry edition.
Clone Systems suits organizations with 50 or more endpoints that want someone else to run the SIEM and work the incidents around the clock, need to control where their logs live, care that AI never sends their data to an outside service, or already buy PCI scanning or penetration testing and want monitoring from the same company.
If the question is who watches the screen
A SIEM is only as good as the person looking at it at 2am. With Blumira, that is your team, backed by Blumira's support team according to your edition. With Clone Systems, it is Clone Systems' analysts, every hour, for every customer, with the evidence attached when they escalate to you. Our SIEM vs SOC vs EDR vs MDR vs XDR guide explains why that distinction matters more than the feature list.
